MISSION: The Nautilus Scholarship’s mission is to provide financial means and professional support for the next generation of design, construction, construction trades and education professionals who might not otherwise have the opportunity to pursue higher education.

The most effective workforce development initiatives marry the needs of employers in the greater community with support for individuals to get the necessary education and skills. The design, construction management and construction trades industries need to develop the next generation of professionals to lead into the future. Too often, high school students who have the interest and aptitude to achieve these industries do not have the financial means or the support to attain their goals. The Nautilus Scholarship addresses both of these needs.

The Nautilus Scholarship board is comprised of local architects, construction managers, and educators that believe deeply in this mission. We are asking you to believe in this mission as well.

RECIPIENTS: The Nautilus Scholarship recipients, or the “Nautilus Scholars”, will be awarded a scholarship from an endowed scholarship fund and will also be provided direct mentoring and internship opportunities. The ideal Nautilus Scholar will be a high school senior in Monroe County seeking to pursue higher education that will lead to them working directly in architectural design, construction management, and construction trades or in a field of education that supports these industries (Math, Science or Technology). They will possess the drive, desire and aptitude that these professions require in order to succeed, while demonstrating financial need.

FUNDRAISING GOAL: As of 2024, over $125,000 has been raised and more than $17,000 in scholarships awarded!  2025 goal is to reach $250,000 for the Nautilus Scholarship endowment fund. The aim is to continue to seek donations beyond 2025 in order to provide multiple scholarships in perpetuity. All monetary contributions will go directly to the scholarship fund.
